Imagio vs Droid vs Omnia 2????

I currently have an LG Dare ... LOVE IT! Except for the part that it doesn't sync my Outlook Calendar and Contacts. I found a program (SyncCell) that worked until my computer was upgraded to 64-bit XP and now it only works 20% of the time.

Anyhoo ...

How I use my phone:

-As a phone
-As an MP3 player
-As a phonebook
-Calendar
-To check webmail
-To check Facebook
-As a GPS map (LOVE VZ Nav!)
-The occasional text
-As a time-waster when waiting for things

I have friends pushing the Droid. But I'm not sure I like the capacitive only screen. Sometimes you want the pin-point accuracy a stylus (or fingernail) will get you ... or sometimes you don't want to take off your gloves! This really is a 90% deal breaker. I'm ready to say "no" if my other options are at least "almost" as good.

But I do like my games. I'm a puzzle/simple game person. Solitaire, Sudoku, kid games, etc. Nothing terribly fancy.

I'm also woo-ed by the other apps out there...bar code scanner (which I've seen on more than just the Droid), etc.

All that being said ... I'm leaning towards the Imagio ... but I'm concerned about the availability of free apps and downloads.

Thoughts?

If your concern is over free apps, Then you should buy the iPhone.
I am not pushing it, I am an anti-Mac guy myself.

For the most part, most every phone, especially new ones that have hit the market, have not lived up to the hype.

No matter what phone you get, you can usually count on this;
Whatever free apps are available at the time you make the purchase, the potential of new free apps hitting the market is extremly slim. except for the iPhone. Even the Droid market is still thin in comparison.

I have the Imagio, I used to own the Samsung Eternity (which when it hit the market there were going to be all these cool apps, never happened)

Having said that the best place to get free apps is from forums, user groups such as this.

Actually, most of the apps I have found for my Imagio are free, including the games you have mentioned and many others. Google maps is free and includes turn-by-turn directions but not the voice command like the Droid. AmazeGPS is another decent free one with turn-by-turn voice directions. Places to check out are freewarepocketpc.net, and the freeware section of handster.com. I also came from the Dare. I liked it but I wouldn't go back. Having way too much fun with the Imagio.

Oh and another great place for tips on how to customize and modify the phone is PPCGeeks. Look for the Imagio forum.
