I am a paramedic and use this phone at work.  It's pretty important that I can (a) answer it whenever it rings and (b) call out whenever I need to.  I am frustrated by the fact that, even though I carfully lock the phone each time I put it into case on my belt, often when it rings I cannot answer it because it is in the middle of SCREEN ALIGN, which requires 10 to 15 screen taps in various places.  I can find no way to cancel the align function and no way to answer the phone when it's in that mode.  I assume that the SCREEN ALIGN function gets triggered by random, accidental button pushes or screen taps.  Does anyone else have this problem or ideas?  Many thanks.

I did have a few issues at first but then i got in the habit of turning the screen off when i am not using the device. And i also tried a few different ways of putting the phone into my belt holster. Now i have my phone screen out and as long as i turn off the screen i have no issues. Not sure if this helps but just my two cents

I THINK I have been doing that.  What, exactly, do you mean by 'turn the screen off?'  I hit the Red button, then tap the LOCK on the screen in lower right corner.

if you long press (1-3 seconds) the end (red) button then tap turn off screen. It think you will get better results. When the screen is off there is no way to accidentally unlock it and cause any issues

Hey, thanks MUCH for taking the time to explain this to me.  I tried that long press of the red button and it brings up a menu, one option of which is Turn Screen Off, just as you said.  I am trying that today and hopefully it will solve my problem.  Thanks again.

The only thing that worries me about all this is that you had said that you have to tap the screen 15 rimes. You should only have to tap the 4 corners and maybe the center and be done. If this keeps happening call verizon because you most likely have a defective unit (it happens). They should have no problem replacing it if that is the case

I am having a somewhat similar problem.  That is why I found this site.  The screen align as well as other apps keep opening while I am on talking on the phone.  I will post a new post with the rest of my problems.

Well I've experienced the same. I'm now on my second HTC Imagio.  The first did the very same. I sometimes had to go around the screen to many times to count.  Most of the times I just got too frustrated and pulled out the battery.  The first one the screen suddenly died ... accepted no input!  My second (refurbished) replacement has exactly the same behavior.

Im starting to think Microsoft needs to redesign the screen calibration ideal because I haven't ever had a phone that this application ever works correctly I have whenever I can get a correct screen calibration I make sure to backup setting and that way if I run into this issue I simply restore the settings file with MSP_RemoteAlignment.exe (Haven't tested on Imagio yet but worked on all previous phones)....

Also for anyone wanting a easier way of turning off back light, install attached cab and set to front button, this way just press button to power light off and this will lock device also when powered off. (AS LONG AS LOCK SCREEN HASN'T BEEN DISABLED)

Change is good and customizing is better, but always remember that backing up should still be the first golden rule...
