I have tried to install SPB Mobile Shell on my Imagio and it seems to make the device hang. Also, it completely takes over. I can't even get to the windows today screen. The HTC interface is completely unavailable.  Anyone else try? I really like Mobile Shell but I don't want to give up the other UI's.

Thanks.

I'm not using SPB Mobile Shell, but there's a massive thread on 3.5 at http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=87544

I am using it and it works perfectly.  You should make sure you have enough device memory left over after install, or install it to your storage card.  Make sure you have the latest version, 3.5.1 and it is a legal copy.  No telling what folks will do to the warez versions.

I looked at the thread and it is old, Aug, 2008. I have a legal copy of MS 3.5.1 and still had problems. I just did a hard reset to clear it all out. I have other must have apps that may be a problem on the Imagio. Pocket Informant, Memmaid, Resco Explorer. My device still hangs often even without Mobile Shell. Also, in Pocket Explorer and Opera when I type in the search it is blank even though I am typing and the curser is moving. This device seems to have some bugs.  Thanks for the feedback.

Hello again. Well, I tried again to install Mobile Shell and it seems to be working great. Although I cannot use the Touchflo interface, I can still use the Today screen. I also got free skins for Mobile shell that work great and change the interface a bit, lose a few features of Mobile Shell, but worth it. The Omnia II comes out tomorrow and I am still within my 30 days, but I am happier with the Imagio.

I have the Spb Mobile Shell 3.5.1 and it is perfect. I use a HTC Hero skin from xda-developers (from Pocketnow.com). They also have a toggle switch to go back and forth from either UI.  Always install mobile shell to you microSD card.
I really wanted the UI from the HTC HD2 (it is a combo of TouchFlo & Hero) but I wanted to use a simple cab file and NOT install a "cooked" ROM.
Good Luck

I would love to flash to a cooked rom or better yet cook my own.... We just have to wait for the HSPL and we will have any kind of look you could want

When I install Mobile Shell I do not get the option to install to SD Card. Is there a way to force it?

After you download the cab file to your laptop or desktop - sync your phone to the computer - and drag and drop to your microSD card.
On your phone - use file explorer to find the cab file on your microSD card -  double click to install - now you should get the option to install in main memory or microSD
Sorry if I m long winded - I wasn t sure how much detail would be helpful

Thank you. Next time I install I will try. Right now, I have my phone tweaked just right, program memory ok, storage memory ok, battery life good.  Don't want to fix what isn't broken. Just got a new replacement battery and 2nd replacement Imagio, now it's all good.  Smiley....so far....running mobile shell in device memory for now. Seems to run ok, no hangs, or freezes.
