There are a number of apps to do this. I'm currently trying Gyrator. It can be downloaded from http://gyrator.brins0.net/?page=downloads.

You have to have the '.NET Compact Framework v3.5': http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e3821449-3c6b-42f1-9fd9-0041345b3385&displaylang=en

I'll post here in a week or so if I keep this or dump it.

A 3rd party application running in the background is not needed.
First go here:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=92385

Follow those steps, soft reset.

Then grab G Config which doesn't run in the background taking up precious memory.
Get it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487991

Run G Config, switch to or start the app you want to rotate, insert your stylus, done.  After a soft reset the application will rotate.    I am using this configuration now, and it just works, period.

I was not happy with Gyrator. Made the phone run very slow. Maybe I'll try your method.

Y'know, I gave Gyrator another try and it seems to be working well. I think I blamed it for problems caused by something else.

Plus, I wasn't really comfortable with the registry editing that the other method required.

I'm just thrilled to be using Skyfire in landscape mode. It's much faster than Opera.

Here everyone, I created a cab to install this registry to get this working...

1. Install cab
2. Restart
3. Once restart complete, go to Start Menu and click "ALL PROGRAMS"
(This is to allow registy to be accepted completly)
4. Go back to M3D

Enjoy... Rotation should function now on M3D... *(SORRY NO 360 DEGRESS)

Note if you want rotation to function on all application. install G Config from xda developers and set up applications that you want to respond to rotate...

Change is good and customizing is better, but always remember that backing up should still be the first golden rule...
